Terms of use
Last updated: 4 August 2026
The rules for using the COLLABme platform: account, published content, everyone's responsibilities.
1. Purpose and acceptance
These General Terms of Use (« CGU ») govern access to and use of the COLLABme platform — the website collabme.be, associated applications and services — published by the company identified in the legal notices (« COLLABme », « we »).
By creating an account or using the platform, you accept these CGU as well as the privacy policy and cookie policy. If you use COLLABme on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.
2. The service
COLLABme connects project owners, companies, educational institutions and talents (freelancers, students, employees, teachers, investors). The platform offers, among other things: multi-faceted profiles, a social feed, the publication of opportunities and applications, an AI-assisted suggestion engine, messaging, team workspaces for organisations (team, schedule, leave, documents, recruitment) and private activity logs.
COLLABme is a technical intermediary: we are not a party to any contract between users (assignment, hiring, internship, investment). The terms of these collaborations — remuneration, deliverables, status — are solely the responsibility of the parties involved.
3. Account and registration
- Registration is password-free, via a login link sent to your email address or through a Google or LinkedIn account. You are responsible for the confidentiality of your inbox, which grants access to your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date. One account corresponds to one real person: fake accounts, identity theft and creating multiple accounts to bypass restrictions are prohibited.
- Registering a minor requires prior consent from their legal guardian; certain features remain inaccessible until this consent is confirmed.
- You can delete your account at any time from your settings; deletion is immediate and removes your profile and content, subject to the limits described in the privacy policy.
4. Facets, profile and visibility
Your account has one or more facets (student, freelancer, teacher, employee, investor, project owner), each with its own information and visibility settings. You choose what to publish: a public profile is visible to other users, and a published freelance showcase is visible to non-logged-in visitors and may be indexed by search engines. Check the visibility of your information before publishing.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of the content you publish (texts, images, documents, posts, reviews). By publishing, you grant COLLABme a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, adapt technically (resizing, displayed translation on reading) and distribute your content, solely to the extent necessary for the platform’s operation and promotion. This licence ends when the content or account is deleted, subject to technical backup copies and content reshared by other users.
You warrant that you own the rights to the content you publish and that it does not infringe any third-party rights (intellectual property, privacy, trade secrets).
6. Rules of conduct
COLLABme is a professional space. The following are prohibited:
- illegal, defamatory, hateful or discriminatory content, or content that undermines human dignity;
- harassment, intimidation and unwelcome advances, including in private messages;
- false profile information: fabricated degrees, experiences or skills, collusive reviews or coordinated denigration;
- deceptive offers: fake opportunities, hidden conditions, scams and pyramid schemes;
- spam, unsolicited mass solicitation, and automated data collection (scraping);
- any security breach of the platform: intrusion attempts, bypassing access controls, deliberate overload, or unauthorized reverse engineering.
7. Reporting and moderation
Any content — posts, comments, opportunities, profiles, or messages — can be reported directly on the platform. Private messages are only reviewed by our team upon a participant’s report and within a limited window around the flagged message.
If these Terms are breached, we may remove content, restrict features, suspend or delete accounts, proportionate to the severity and, unless urgent, after notifying you. You can contest a measure by writing to info@collabme.be.
8. Organisation spaces
An organisation (company or institution) has a dedicated workspace managed by its own administrators: they invite members, assign roles, and decide on HR features (scheduling, leave, documents, recruitment, onboarding). The organisation is responsible for the data it processes there and commits to using it in compliance with labour and data protection laws. COLLABme hosts this data on behalf of the organisation, as outlined in the privacy policy.
9. Matching and artificial intelligence features
Suggestions, compatibility scores, interview guides, and the CollabCoach assistant are generated using AI models. They are provided for guidance only: they may be incomplete or inaccurate and do not replace your judgment or human decisions. Recruitment or collaboration decisions always remain with the individuals involved. The CollabCoach assistant only acts when activated, and its actions are logged in an auditable journal.
10. Paid subscriptions
- Certain features are available via subscription, linked to a facet (freelancer, project owner, investor), monthly or annual, tacitly renewed. Prices shown include all taxes.
- Payments are processed by our provider Stripe; invoices and subscription management (payment method, cancellation) are accessible via the client portal in your settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, with no pro-rata refund.
- If you are a consumer, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal; by requesting immediate access to the service, you consent to its immediate execution and acknowledge that withdrawal is no longer possible once the service has been fully provided for the period started.
- A subscription only grants its benefits if the corresponding facet is active on your account.
11. COLLABme’s intellectual property
The platform, its brand, logos, interfaces, software, and databases are protected by intellectual property law and remain the exclusive property of COLLABme or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership to you; your use of the platform is granted to you personally, non-exclusively and non-transferable.
12. Availability and liability
We strive to keep the platform available and secure, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access: maintenance, incidents, and force majeure events may affect it. The service is provided "as is."
COLLABme is not liable for user-generated content, the accuracy of profiles or opportunities, or the outcome of connections. Our liability, where engaged, is limited to direct and foreseeable damages and, for paid services, to the amount paid in the last twelve months — except in cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct, and without limitation where prohibited by law, particularly with respect to consumers.
13. Service and Terms updates
The platform evolves continuously: features may be added, modified, or removed. We may update these Terms; for material changes, you will be notified at least 15 days before they take effect, either on the platform or by email. Continued use after this date constitutes acceptance; otherwise, you may delete your account.
14. Applicable law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Belgian law. In case of disputes, parties will first seek an amicable solution: contact us at info@collabme.be. If no agreement is reached, Belgian courts have jurisdiction — for consumers, without prejudice to mandatory jurisdiction rules in their country of residence. The European Commission provides an online dispute resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
